Hi just want to know what the best ab exercise is in terms of safety and great results
An area in particular would be the lower abs

I recommend crunches and bicycle crunches. I don't recommend sit ups or weighted exercises.
One point I will make, though, is that most of your abs looking good is a low fat level achieved through proper diet and/or activities that burn calories.

It all depends if you have to lose anything on the waist line. If you already have a flat stomach and just need the muscle, then do crunches and leg raises. But if you have to lose a few pounds first then I suggest putting on a sweater and jog frequently to burn more calories. The average person already has ab muscles, they just have to lose a few on the waist line before it can show.
