How much does it cost to buy a LA Fitness gym membership?

How much does it cost to buy a LA Fitness gym membership?
I'm in California and I looked at the LA Fitness website but they didn't list the cost. I have a feeling that if I call them they will put someone on the line who will talk in circles like a car salesman. I'm hoping that someone out there who has a membership or knows someone who does (it can even be to a different gym..they probably cost similar) can tell me how much I should expect to pay.

just go to BALLY. its about $ 30 a month. i go there and they have everything i need.

It's been a while but when i enrolled it was first and last plus a fee. it came to be like 129. or something like that. it's month to month and it's 29.99. I'm not sure now. But you should call and ask about the specials sometimes they have really good ones. Just give a fake phone number if you don't want them calling you every 10mins =)
