Sports Mental Training - How Do Athletes in Professional Training Increase Mental Fitness?

They use a wide array of psychological tools ranging from visualization to hypnosis. Peak performance is the objective of competitive sports and the basis for sports mental training.

It is said that mental conditoning increases athletic confidence and research over the years has proven that your state of mind (level of preparedness) complements your physical, on-field training.

While physical strength is one part of the equation, it's your mind that drives your body to succeed.

mental training is an awesome way to get better in any running event. By training your mind it can help you be prepared for any situation that may arrise during the race. Infact did you know that professional athletes run more visual miles than actual miles? When you visualize a race you can visiualize anything, you can get blocked in and have to get out. it could be raining or snowing and if you visualize all of these different situations than if one of them happens you can be some what prepared for it.
Professional athletes visualize not only to help them know what all possible situations could be but they also visualize to teach themselves how to block out the noise from the crowds. and to help with this some sit in a room with just the sound of people cheering and screaming and clapping and the athletes use that to get better at blocking out that sound so they can focus the day they run.
The more any person visualizes the better they will get at it, my favorite thing to do is sit in a nice warm tub and visualize my races. I will also visualize when i am in bed. I always visualize in a very relaxing place for me becuase if i am relaxed when i am visualizing i will be relaxed while i am running.
